Sounds like a good idea, but just in case it doesn't happen, we could try and do a quicker than usual D8 which works like Apple's Snow Leopard. Just use the D8 upgrade to complete and clean-up all those items that have been only partially implemented. Just a backup idea in case the Feature Freeze one doesn't happen.

About the "Critical Bugs" having to be zero before release. That's true, but I think Daniel is thinking more of items hat are missing not broken. Missing won't be covered by fixing the "Critical Bugs"
